My daughter has started to have periods and I would like to know what pain killer I can get her. She is only nine?

It's not her age that you really need to consider, it's her weight. You can spend the extra money on Midol but just plain ibuprofen will do the trick. Motrin and Advil are both ibuprofen but it is also available in a generic (no name brand) and it is the same medication but you aren't paying for the brand name of Motrin etc.
Speak to a pharmacist and know how much she weighs when you do and they will be able to recommend something.
Good luck to you and her. Nine is a young age to start and made even worse with cramps.

I think the best 'cramp controlling' medicine for periods is Midol. It works very well. Although, im not sure the age limits on it. Most medicines require the person consuming to the medicine to be 12 years of age or older. Im not sure about this though. SInce she is so young, maybe the best medication would be motrin or advil. Talk to your local pharmacist.

Advil, and a heating pad helps A LOT 2.

Hmmmm.......im 13 and i use Motrin but for a nine year old i would use Tylenol or Advil or something not tooo strong!!! Good Luck!! Oh and you prob already know this but dont have her use tampons have her use pads!

They have some patches at the drug store that you can apply to your abdomen that heat when on the skin. Heat helps. When she's at home, she can use a heating pad.
