No, clearly not. Nor should you suggest it by saying where you got it. Ideally, you would be making a gift rather than buying one anyway. Of course, if you give a gift card (what used to be a gift certificate), then they are going to know. But we like to pretend it's not about money at all.

well depends...ha...I told my mom on the phone, well, Merry Christmas Ma...I just spent 30 bucks to get you a new stove pig tail, and new washer hoses.

Long story, but she laughed and said, cool..thanks, that is the perfect gift.
