it's a 1997 rover and i think it's it's battery. but what does srs mean?

forgot to say the SRS only stays on for a lil bit, 5-7 seconds then it goes off.

Yes also known as Supplymentary Restraint System. Start by clearing the trouble code. If that doesnt fix it(it usually does) Then you may have lost connection at the airbag harness. This problem does prevent your vehicle from starting.

SRS stands for Secondary Restraint System which is the Airbag. If the light is on then you have a possible problem with the airbag system.
