Hmmm, some of us combine the two. Wanted to have my daughter at 16, had my daughter at 17.

There's a whole bunch of 20yo and 30yo who also get pregnant right away. Most of them don't complain on Yahoo answers "what do I do?" They know what they want to do.
There's probaly a whole bunch of teenagers who also DON't get pregnant because they took precautions, and don't post on Yahoo.
I guess you get the ones with problems. Very few 14yo say "help, I can't get pregnant!" Mostly, the young ones' problems are "Could I be pregnant?" (Short answer - time will tell, take a test) or "Oops. I'm pregnant - what do I do?" (Short answer - whatever you want.)
With older women, they know all the answers to "what do I do..." what they can't get an answer to is "Why can't I get pregnant?" They spent their whole teen years being warned "Careful! Anything can make you pregnant" only to find it's more like a lottery. You keep buying tickets for months or years, and if you're lucky, you get a winner.

That's because the younger you are...the riper you are. I'm 21 and trying to conceive (keep your fingers crossed!) people tell me I should wait until I'm older....my time is now though. In the older days...people had babies in their teenage years...13, 14, etc. It was considered normal. If someone had a baby in their late 20's or early 30's....they would assume the baby would be mentally ill or cripple....it's just the way bodies work.

Yes, but it isn't worth it to complain about it. I am one of those 30-somethings that couldn't conceive. I never complained about the unfairness. Just did what I had to do and finally decided to adopt. I was awarded for my patience with a wonderful daughter who we adopted followed by my surprise son - and now another on the way.
Now instead of complaining about the 14 year olds I have a chance to do my part by teaching my 14 year old daughter just how she should behave. I will also teach my son the same lessons.

I wish teenagers realized the dangers of having sex too soon. When I was in college, I had to take a Teaching Sex Ed. class. We had a doctor who came and talked to us about how the cells around the cervix of teenage girls were still forming, so when they had sex before they were 18, they are putting themselves at a high risk for cancer later in life. The cells get rubbed and it affects the cell walls, which in turn can cause problems with the cells and cause abnormal cells, which can lead to cervical cancer. Most teenagers don't realize this.

i have noticed! however i think alot of these girls may be faking it! obviously i cant be sure but its an awful lot of young girls!
i am 17 and pregnant! but my boyfriend used a condom all the time (but one split) and i was on the pill! i was just unlucky i guess.......but however unlucky it is im still going through with the pregnancy because im against abortion ....... which brings me to another point ... kids falling pregnant are using abortion as a type of contraception in a way! having unprotected sex then gettng an abortion! it disgusts me!

Not all of the teenagers out there having sex are getting pregnant easily! I think its more just the demographics of Yahoo! Answers users versus teenagers being more fertile.

yes and another thing i have noticed not on here but people who abuse their children to the point where they kill them aswel, they dont deserve children and people like me who miscarried a baby that was the most precious thing in the world to them or people that cant have kids at all. Its seriously not fair and i dont understand how the world works sometimes.

Yes, maybe its because we are always thinking about it and stressed out about the inability to conceive and other normal stressors. 14 years olds are relatively stress free, so they get pregnant quicker. just a thought.
