They would be a formidable combination. However I don't think McCain has much of a chance at this point. I really thought he showed a lot of integrity with the torture issue. Maybe he's a better person than the GOP deserves?

First McCain has to win the nomination, and at this point it doesn't seem too likely. I suppose he has about as much chance as Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo. Having said that, the primaries are never as predictable as the general election. A candidate can be leading nationally in the polls, but have a bad showing in Iowa and New Hampshire and they're finished. Remeber Howard Dean? Do you also remember that Kerrey was a long shot for the nomination before the votes were cast in Iowa, and suddenly he became the frontrunner. In Dec. 1991 Bill Clinton was polling between 2-4% nationally, but even with only 4% support he was elected twice. The point is that presidential primaries are about as predictable as the weather. Sometimes the polls are completely accurate but at other times they're off by 30-50%. If McCain has a chance to win, so do all of the other longshots. Personally, I can't think of McCain without remembering his involvement in the S & L scandal. I'd rather see him in prison than the white house, but his time in a Vietnamese prison should be deducted from his sentence.

No. Lieberman is a liberal Democrat and McCain is a conservative Republican. Check their profiles at ontheissues.org. The reason they are often compared is that they both put country over party. This is why the two have so much respect for each other.

Lieberman is a class act. He is not what most of todays Democrats are. He defends American values. It would not be outrageous if he was on McCains ticket.

;In an election year that has been like no other in recent years, this would be most interesting. It seems that we need a Dem and GOPer to run together. We have to get away from : "the we against them" divide that has polarized our great country, I THINK IT WOULD BE FANTASTIC.
