I just received my baby's Social Security card in the mail. Does anyone know whether the parents are supposed to sign the child's name on it or whether they let the child do it when he/ she can write? Thanks.

Do not sign. Leave it blank. The instruction says to leave it blank if the card belongs to a minor. Read the paper the card is attached too and the back of the card.

If you read it, it says the child should sign it when he gets a job.

no, don't sign it. Your child can sign it at any time he is able, and until that time (or if he is never able to sign it for whatever medical reasons such as blindness), the card is still valid with no signature.

Nope! Your baby will sign it.I signed mine when I was 16 and got my first job. Just keep it in a safe place until then.
