Has anyone ever created their own government in a fantasy/sci fi or any other type of book? I was just wondering if anyone had put the time in creating something new instead of the standard monarcy or demoratic or communism groups.

I meant in a novel, has anyone created their own type of government! Sorry, it came out jumbled!

well it's pretty hard to create a new form of goverment. . . .as most of them have been tried at some point. . . . certainly enough to choose from, and more than what you listed. . . .check out the civilisation game for some ideas, history books. . .

now the form of the government bureaucracy can be tinkered with quite a bit. . . customs, practices. . .

but there's really very little new under the sun. . . . .

Have a look at Ayn Rand.

Also read Plato, Mills, Locke, Rawls, Kant, etc.... they're not novels, but outline Libertarianism, Utilitarianism, Contractarianism, and so on.

Well I'm in the middle of writing a book and there is a made up government in it. It's really difficult to make one up, but worth it in the end.

I did, at least in the book I am currently writing. There are many types of governments in it, but one is a religiously led empire, with its top officials clergymen.

Read George Orwell's "1984." It is about Totalitarianism.
