There is NO SOLUTION.

sqrt(4x + 1) + 3 = 0
sqrt(4x + 1) = -3

A square root cannot be a negative number, so there is no solution.

If you tell us what part you are taking the square root of, it would be helpful.

Is it sqrt(4x + 1) + 3 = 0?

um i think u mean square root (4x+1) +3=0

so sub. 3 from both sides.
sqrt. (4x+1) = -3

then square both sides.

4x+1=9
sub. 1

4x=8

so x=2
