In my state, the Unemployment Rate hovers at 12 percent. There has been outsourcing, in-sourcing, home losses, and people once making a decent wage now working in menial, low-paid jobs.

Many do not have health insurance and getting help is a long, humiliating process. Some people are desperate, unable to pay fuel bills in an cold winter. Even those going to other states to work are unable to find jobs with salaries that pay their way, with enough left over to save their homes and pay their bills.

President Bush is rich. I don't think he has ever gone into a grocery store on a budget, or worried about paying a bill. Perhaps the top echelon of Corporate moneymakers are enjoying the economy, but many citizens are not. Don't tell me that young people are thriving, because I know better. Your car insurance alone equals $200 to $300 monthly to insure an old junker. Add rent, food, health insurance and car payments....can't be done without help. The truth is, this economy sucks!

Yes you are absalutly correct. Our econonmy is at a very low point. The dollar is worth progressivly less internatioanlly, we are billions in dollars in debt from borrowing from Japan and China for the Iraq war, and inflation rates and unemployment are extremley high. Didn't you ever hear that Georgie was living in a bubble? Well heres a perfect example. Just remember everyone vote this election we definitly need a change. Ron Paul 2008...hahah ahd to throw in the punch line.

I disagree with you. Lot's of people can do it without help. Why don't you do something to better your situation? I remember when I was first out of high school I thought like you, but then i worked my *** off through college and graduate school. Now that I am finally done, I make a pretty decent living and don't have those problems any longer.

I think the reason people feel like this is because they haven't tried to better themselves.

The reason there is so much outsourcing is because businesses are taxed so much in the US. That's why so many businesses are leaving the US.

Maybe if there were more educated people in this world, they would be able to understand the economy's problems and work toward fixing them, instead of blaming whoever is in office at the time.

If you look at the leading economic indicators we are not doing so bad. And before you talk about President Bush please remember that the richest people in Congress are Democrats. And I would bet you are living in one of those blue States where unemployment is a way of life. Talk to you congressmen and see if anything is being done, not just to help people but to get them on their feet. I have been there and had to do that several times. Thing is tho, I do my best not to sit around waiting for the Government to "do something". If you look at the constitution that is not one of their jobs, to provide employment or support to people.

nothing new ,there are always pockets of poverty, yet we manage to survive.do not look for gov. to fix your problems,it is not their job.stop buying into the liberal bullshit! stealing $$(taxes) from the rich and the upper middle class to support the poor is not the answer.YOU are the only that can improve your life. yes the economy is doing well and Pres Bush is not the only reason......the American people are the ones that make this country excel.here is the latest tax info(2005).now tell me if this is fair-5% of the population pays 60% of the taxes.so much for beating up the rich, looks like we should thank them for being rich and picking up the tab.the poor pay no taxes and get all the bennies.

I did not know Bush could think, but no I think we are headed for a good sized recession - and the economy was not really good for the average person to begin with.
Face it, Bush is not your friend...unless you are worth millions.

Don't say it can't be done without help. I pay those bills myself, without help - including my own health insurance. And, I'm NOT rich, by any measure. It's called budgeting.
The economy is cyclical, but by in large it's in good shape. Read the figures.
