Its not just for sexually active women.

If you want to get regulated, the pill is the way to go.

I've been on Kariva for almost two years and love it.

Well, if you're underage, as far your concern about period. When you had a period in 2 to 3 years ago. You're still irregular. When you get next period when you get older, You will become regular. You don't need get birth control this time. You will be perfect fine. If I were you goes see your doctor for annual check up. You need goes there every two years. But you're not ready for GYNO. You will have to wait til 18, if you're sexual active. You'll need talk your parent first before, if you want take a birth control. Your parent is fully responsible to taking care of you and as far your health's concern.

You don't have to be sexually active to go on birth control. If you want to get it on schedule then it would be best to go to your local sexual health clinic or your doctor. Your doctor from there will be able to find the right brand of birth control for you. Make sure your able to tell her when your last period was and how long it was and if it was heavy and light.

I was put on birth control at age 14 because of my irregular,heavy,cramp-filled periods. I wasn't sexually active then. Birth Control is good for more reasons than preventing pregnancy. :)

Doctor's do use birth control pills for other things than just prevent unwanted pregancies---they are used to regulate your hormones, especially for those who have heavy periods.

You didn't say how you were not "normal"

I suggest you go to your doctor and discuss your problems. Get checked out to make sure you don't have other problems causing your symptoms.

Birth control pills are prescriptions and they bring risks with them.

The pill will make your period regular, but unless it's a real problem you're better off not going on the pill, it's makes you gain weight and it's not good to be on medication that you don't really need.

Birth control WILL regulate your cycle regardless of sexual activity. Birth control helps with pregnancy prevention, regulating your cycle, and treating acne. You do not have to need all three. I know lots of virgins who went on it just to make their cycle regular.

Go for it.

You can do that. It's not just for sexually active women. It's also used to regulate periods, to help with acne, to reduce menstrual cramping, and other reasons as well.
