Im doing stand up this weekend and was wondering would the 6:00 news qwickly mention it towards the end of the show it would be like a 30 sec thing thats it.

Your best bet would be to send the assignment editor a fax, telling them about the event. Maybe you'd make it on to the 11 o'clock news. And the other person is right; a charity-related event obviously would help your chances.

Not much of news value there, but stranger things have happened.

Most likely not. Also, 30 seconds on an evening news broadcast is a huge amount of time.

If there was some sort of fund raising or charity tie-in you might have a chance, but it would have to be something exceptional and very unique.

No, unless the event would impact a lot of people (such as a big festival) or for some kind of worthy cause.

You could possibly suggest they do a human interest story on local stand ups in the area...but that would not benefit you for this particular night.
