Overall, there are some 20,000 laws regarding use and restriction of guns.the original and best law is:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution.

The only federal pending activity I'm aware of is the Supreme Court of the US will look at Washington,DC about keeping a handgun at home.
