A good bar person will have an idea how long people have been there and the order to serve them in.
Of course I find waving a large currency note helps with service.

Well today I was in Princess Street, Edinburgh in a café, just after viewing the German-Market around for winter.
When we enterd we got a seat, orderd the meal..We had to wait 25 minuets for some Nachos, that when we got them they
were burnt, but the guy said '' better than cold '' but rude, but jesus..
We waited another 10 minuets just for the table to get cleared.., and this new couple who came in 5 minuets after us ordering the first meal, was already eating their main course!!
I think yes, first of all the waitors KNOW you are there, so I doubt you would leave and scream in public..so they need to welcome the new guests, because if they dont get attention, there going straight out the door, and thats loosing cash.

I've never had that happen to me
There's too many bars in the world to stand around and wait for drinks
I'd get up and leave and go to the next one

they hav a way, its to do with the eye contact make sure you see them, and look them in a eye , what we do is we try and look up and see whos been waiting ,and if we don't know we normally go whos next or make some sort of body language as to who should be served next , unfortunately now there are so many pretentious t...ts out there and no one with any manners this system breaks down

I've got a high profile so I need to be invisible when I'm in the public eye - so I get one of my flunky's to be ignored for 10 mins for me.

I am invisible in crowds. So, I walk behind my 6'3 ,270 pound husband. People move for him.
So, I can relate.

Yeah that has only happened to me twice. Now if I look as if I'm going to get ignored I tend to shout.

Happens to me all the time, so I tend to open my shirt a little and knee on a chair so they notice me.
