Someone once told me to use something BEFORE sex, DURING sex, and AFTER sex. My friend advised me to continue with birth control, use a condom , and use Emergency Contraception to prevent pregnancy.

Would this work?

THX.

That really is going overboard. Esp the the emergency contraception. If you were going to do this everytime you have sex (not that I know how frequently you would do this...) AND be on the pill.. that's a hell of a lot of additional hormones running through your body. It'll wreak havoc with your cycle, possibly your long-term fertility & definitely your mood.
The pill on it's own is 99.99% effective if used correctly. And if those odds aren't good enough for you, then abstinence would be the way to go.

No.

Continuing with birth control (I assume you mean the pill), YES.

Condom? YES.

Taking emergency birth control? NO. Using Plan B or some such other item should only be used in the event of an emergency. Meaning rarely. By using the emergency contraceptive, you are putting even more hormones in your body than you need and it can send your hormones out of whack.

If you want to be TRIPLE sure, then continue birth control, use a condom, and them use the spermacide foam after sex.

P.S. Holding a quarter between your knees doesn't work because you can just bend over, lol.

emergency contraception is just that emergency I.E the condom broke. This could and probably will make it so when you are older and want kids you will not be able too.
the others are a good idea, not perfect ( i did manage as a teen to get pregnant on birth control and a condom. I found out later though that I am allergic to the pill and the condom had to of broke.) Yes use protection. nothing is perfect though.

Asking if you can get pregnant by having sex even if you use birth control is like asking if you can get a concussion from banging your head against a brick wall even if you are wearing a helmet

The only way to prevent pregnancy is to not have sex. That's it. The purpose of sex is making babies. That's why we call those special parts the "reproductive" organs and not the "just-for-sh*ts-and-giggles" organs.

Some facts

1. Male ejaculate only needs to come in contact with the vaginal opening for the sperm to start their swim North.

2. It only takes one sperm to fertilize an egg.

3. There are an average of 300,000,000 sperm in each male ejaculation (so what to the odds favor).

4. No form of birth control, other than not having sex, is 100% effective.

I know you don't want to hear this, but these are the facts.

Sure those other things can do the job, but there is a chance that they won't, so you have to ask yourself if you are ready to be a mom. If the answer is 'no' keep your pants on.

yes but you are going way over board. From the sounds of things before you become sexual active you need to do some research understand what you are getting into.
Regular use of the birth control pill/shot/patch used properly is 99.9% effective. Remember there are drug interactions like antibotics that make it not work.
During sex you should be using a condom and spermicide to prevent the spread of disease, as for the after factor; I am not sure what you are getting at. If you use these properly with an understanding of what you are doing you can protect yourself and your partner from making a big mistake.
Above all educate yourself!!!!!

The only way to completely prevent pregnancy is to not have any kind of sexual relations. There is always a risk with any kind of birth control method that it won't work.

I'm not completely certain, but it sounds like a damn good plan. However, I'm not too sure it's safe to use Emergency Contraceptives frequently, this is something you should ask an OB/Gyn.

The pill and or condom should do the trick for you as long as they are used correctly. Both are highly effective on their own, again, if used properly, so you shouldn't need to double or triple up. When people say they used one or the other and still got pregnant, they're either lying about using them or they didn't use them right.

The birth control and condoms should be sufficient enough.

Birth control (if taking correctly) and condoms should be pretty useful.
