No way. Musician implies exceptional talent on an instrument.

He's a great entertainer and good songwriter a fair singer and a good guitarist.

There have been better people in all of those categories.

I disagree... he may be catchy, but the most accomplished musician by a long way was Frank Zappa. He could make songs catchy, but most of his stuff wasn't palatable as far as the general public were concerned. Nevertheless, he excelled at guitar and drums, he wrote his first orchestral score as a teenager (and I mean for a WHOLE orchestra).
Zappa built on concepts put in place from Stravinsky to the Beach Boys, yet gave them new life. He managed to create pieces in almost every single genre possible, and his understanding of music theory (aside from masterful lyrical devices) surpasses every other known musician in my opinion. There is a lot of his stuff that I'm not keen on, but that doesn't mean he's not the greatest *musician* ever. =oD

Sorry, no.
There's quite a few musicians out there easily better than Bruce "whiney" Springsteen and the E Street Band.

If you would have said greatest singer/song writer you may have gotten more favorable responces. He may be in somewhere in the top 10 in that catagory.
