Pats would have been accused of it , if they did what the Chargers did yesterday.

The difference between the Pats and the Chargers is, the Pats would have been going for it on 4th down with a score like that. the Chargers didn't do that, they just kept getting first downs and Detroit wasn't stopping them.

The Chargers ran Darren Sproles (3rd string RB) 24 times in the 2nd half. I know you're a Pats fan, but do you really equate that with Tom Brady throwing deep to Randy Moss over & over in the 4th quarter of an equivalent blowout.
You're right that there's no crying in football, so stop crying about what people think of the Pats and whether they run up the score. What difference does it make? Quit crying already...

In my opinion, NO they did not. The final was 51-14. We've seen worse before. Detriot is 6-8 and were 6-2 six games ago. You see it in college football, hockey, baseball and basketball where teams run up the score and nobody makes a big fuss about it. If teams don't like it, then tell your defense to do something about it.

There is no such thing as "running up the score" in a professional sport. If you cant put a team out there that is good enough to keep the game within a legitimate score then you deserve to lose by as many as you lose by. It is not the other teams job to try and make you not look bad, its their job to win. I love the attitude and mindset that they want to beat you as badly as they can, and i think every team should do that.

I love how everyone says they didn't run up the score because LT was out, ok so they sat out one starter and kept the other 21 in. Yes they ran up the score, but it dosn't matter, every team should play there hardest every down.

No, Detroit was just too pathetic to stop their offense. THere's no such thing as "running up the score". It's the defenses job to stop the offense, not the offenses job to sit down and let the opponent catch them.

I agree completely with wcbaseball14. You always should play your best, in any sport, no matter what the score is. Even if you're killing the team or if you're losing badly.

IS there such thing really but it's rather stupid after a substantial lead to jeopardize the starters just to score more.

They ran the ball with Darren Sproles all the 2nd half. So if they did it, it wasn't with Rivers, Gates and/or LT.
