The most visual form is in the Colonial building style. However, many ex colonies base their legal system on British law. Entreprenures like Rhodes etc. built railroads, canals, transportation networks and trade routes. Victorian fashions are still around today. Just look at how enduring the suite has proved.

As well as empire, demand at home also had an influence of traditional industries, like pottery. The English style tea pot is another enduring icon of the Victorian era.

Did I mention education, logistical management, civil service, trade?

Oh yes, religion as well.

The fact that Gt Britain through her Empire controlled one quarter of the world - may have had something to do with it.
