As professional (and mainly hockey) fans we live and die with our teams, more often than not. However, the general managers of our teams usually pick up a player who makes us seethe with anger. This question is relative to the aforementioned scenario: on your favorite NHL team, who is your least favorite player? Better yet, who is your least favorite currently and all time?

For me:

Pittsburgh Penguins

Current- Ty Conklin (the way this guy plays, he makes Marc-Andre Fleury look like Martin Brodeur!)

All Time- Petr Nedved (this jerk had the gall to hold out for a contract after having the two best seasons of his career, being the benefactor of the talents of a certain Hall Of Fame center/captain/team owner...)

My favorite team is the Ottawa Senators. My least favorite changes back and forth between Montreal and Toronto, depending on the rivalry. Right now it's Montreal. Some of the classless habs fans at the Bell Center really get under my skin. The ole chant in the 1st period. Cheering when opposing players are injured badly. Booing Price mercilessly. They're a classless, classless bunch. Not all habs fans, just a certain segment who attend the games.

Coulda told you Conklin was going to make you crazy...I felt that pain when he was with the Sabres last year. Anyway, my least favorite Sabre is a tie between Peters and Afinogenov. Peters brings no actual hockey talent to the table, and he can't even fight his way out of a wet paper bag. He's a waste of money, IMO. Afinogenov just drives me up a wall; he has spectacular games and spectacular failures of games, and sometimes they're in the same period! I never liked him for as long as he's played in Rochester then later Buffalo. He's got speed and skill, but I seriously think he's stupid with the way he botches things up so royally sometimes.

VANEK

I wish the Sabres would have let the Oilers take em! Nobody deserves that much cash. Plus he sure doesn't play up to his ridiculous contract. It just seems like he doesn't hustle and be aggressive sometimes out on the ice. And the sad thing about it is my Lafontaine Jersey is too small, I'm not going to HSBC caught in a Briere or Satan jersey, so I am forced to wear my dad's #26 jersey the game. I feel as though its a waste of $150 if I dont wear it, cause nobody else will. Hopefully I will get a Gaustad or a Timmy Ho jersey for Christmas so I dont have the money hog's name on my back.

Habs

Currently Bryan Smolinski, he has been a joke since we picked him up, Supposed to be a defensive guy who would chip in offensively. Has not produced at all takes bad penalties, not as good as a rookie,Chipchura on the PK.

All time, `Sergi Samsonov- 2 yrs 7 million and the guy was a total bust. Contributed nothing and became a cancer on the team affecting play of other Russians - notably Kovalev.

Thank you LITY- he is all yours now.

Well I am also a big Pittsburgh Penguins fan, where I am from. I don't like Adam Hall much. I think Tyler Kennedy should of made the team before Adam Hall. I don't think Hall is that good, and the Penguins have better players that should be on the Roster before Hall.

you make a great point. I'm a Pens fan from the begining of my life and there have been some doozies for them. But I would say nedved is the biggest one. Although Sydor and Sykora are looking a little like a stupid move at times.

Favorite team: Detroit Red Wings

Least Favorite now: If I had to choose one, it would be Hasek.

Least Favorite all-time: Bertuzzi, since he came here and did absolutely nothing. I don't care if the players we gave up end up being duds, that was a waste of time.

Dishonorable mention: Bob Essensa. I still can't believe we traded Cheveldae away for that piece of ****.

Current - Yeah, Ty Conklin is probably my least favorite too.

All-Time - Hmm... Probably Nedved.

Sandwich Shane Endicott between "current" and "all-time" because while he doesn't play for the Pens anymore (THANK GOD!) we're STILL paying him (this is the last season of that though). Seriously, the best thing this guy probably did when he was here was set Colby Armstrong up for a few jokes.

As an Oilers fan, it pains me to see Raffi Torres step on the ice night after night for us. Come on, not only is he a prick and a gutless hockey player- but he dies his eyebrows!! I live in Edmonton and I've seen him out at the bars, man, what a jackass. But all time it has to be Claude Lemieux. I'll never forget the day he turtled....pathetic.

Currently:
This ones kind of tough seeing as I like them all for the most part.....But if I had to pick, I'd say Hasek, It's a love hate relationship.

All time:
Sean Avery, he only played like 75 games through 2 years, I don't think I need to explain myself with this one though.
