My John Deere is just like new, it is like a hobby with me keeoing it in top running order. When I run it at night with my lights on the lights go from bright like they shoud be to some what dim. Like on your car when you go from bright to dim, but I'm not doing anything to make this happen, I'm at the same speed and I'm on black top whrer it is very even [no hole to hit]. Why would my mowers lights do this it is both of them doing it, and they are in tight?????

There are two types of lighting used on lawn tractors. One has a seperate lighting circuit from the alternator to the lights. The other is more like a car. You can tell the difference by whether or not the headlights come on with the engine off. Usually with the seperate circuit type the lights will get dim and bright with the engine rpm. In the other case the light tend to stay the same level all the time. What you are seeing may be the voltage requlator adjusting the voltage to the battery. This could also be caused by a poor connection in the system.
