Well fact is some people do not like to fly so they will stick with Florida since they can drive there, also people are afraid of ocean goinig ships as well.
So the bottom line is the expense in traveling to Hawaii versus Florida.
So the best alternitive is to go to Florida,The Worls Most Beautiful Beaches.

I went to Florida last year and Hawaii just recently.
I would think if there is a reason its that 5 to 9 hours flight time.
But I prefer Hawaii just because its beautiful. I'll live with the long flights.

The beaches in Hawaii are less friendly to tourists.
Florida is generally nicer weather wise.
Hawaii is much more expensive,
The water in Florida is better (warmer, calmer) for diving and boating.

It is alot closer and more inexpensive for the snowbirds. Retired people from the north spend the winters there.
