Sounds as if you have a loose alternator belt. The reason that it screeches when you first start the car is because it is under heavy demand to produce voltage after the starter draw. It should be a simple fix. Worst case scenario is that you have to replace belt

It is a belt. Just get the belt changed by a certified mechanic and you will be good to go. Also while they are changing that try to figure out if and when your timing belt (different than the one making the noise) was last changed. I believe Nissan advises areound every 100k miles. If it has yet to be changed you need to go ahead and get that done before it wears out and breaks and bends up your rods and bands up your pistons.

I would lean towards a belt since it goes away. I have seen a few times where the starter stays engaged and causes a screeching noise, but, it is distinctly different than a belt noise.
So without hearing your vehicle...........

Either a loose belt or a bad pulley, as a rule, a bad pulley won't get silent after a few minutes where the belt will.

If it's a serpentine belt, it should run you around 30.00 for the belt plus installation if you don't tackle it yourself.
