And when I say "work"....I mean working in a job of some kind....as opposed to working at home to make Christmas happen! Don't get me wrong....I know Christmas is a lot of work! LOL

I have never worked on Christmas Day...I think there was one year where I worked on December 23rd....but it only happened once....and that is the closest to Christmas I have ever actually been in the office.

I have worked on Christmas day for the past 4 years. I work in a place of servitude. Christmas day is one of our biggest days of the year to have guests come in. Many people get together on Christmas. Many do not want to spend the entire day together, or just want to have fun, so they come to us (a casino), for food, fun, and gatherings. By the end of the day, I'm sweaty, tired, cranky and just want to go home, where it's quiet and safe. I do remember the last Christmas I was able to be there for my own family. If I had known it was my last one with them, I would have done more. I use to work in an office and had all holidays off. Now, I entertain others while they have their days off. How sadly ironic for me?

I had to work on Christmas Day at the Omelet Shoppe. I didn't think that anyone would eat omelets on Christmas Day but I was wrong. There were a lot of people traveling. Then, I worked at a video store and worked on Christmas 2 times. It was open from 2-10. I had to open the store one Christmas and the alarm went off on me. It scared me to death. Then the police came and checked out the store. Believe me, I would have much rather been at home.

I have worked many Christmas days. Since I'm a RN, I have to work 2 out of the 3 major holidays ( Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years). I have been in the medical field since my teenage years so, yup, I have worked on many, major holidays. It is part of the job, not that I like it but.....

No, I have never had to work on Christmas Day. It would be nice of nobody ever had to work on Christmas. It just seems so sad that they can't be home with their families or friends. : (

My husband has had to work on Christmas day many times and I have as well. We are both in a line of work that is busiest during the Christmas season.

I work in a lab and have to work all holidays, including christmas, unless they happen to fall on my off days. But I have a crazy work schedual where I'm on a 7 day on 2 day off rotation and any day I come in I can be held 12 to 16 hours. But I love my job.. does kill the social life though. I guess I'm one of those people that live to work instead of work to live.

Yes, for 6 years straight my schedule was working all holidays. Christmas wasn't too bad though because it was only 4 hours either early mornings or late night

I have worked most Christmas days..folks need caring for on holidays, just like any other day. Most times I really don't mind because they are like my family too and I like being with them.
