I haven't been able to find one commercially that will make a thin enough sock. I would prefer one that makes heel and toe.

I am interested in both buying one, or making my own.

Have googled sock loom. Nothing is fine enough. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

You probably cannot find a loom with that tight a gauge similar to the plastic knitting machines or Knifty Knitters currently available. For something that fine a gauge you'd need a circular sock machine. There aren't many places you can buy a modern one, most of the available ones are antiques which may or may not be in need of major repair, from places like e-Bay. There are a couple of current manufacturers in Japan and Australia, but when I last looked a few months ago, the Aussie version was over $1200 US.

Do your web-searches for "sock knitting machine" rather than "loom".

They can make socks with heels and a curved toe area. I use the same method when hand-knitting socks.

I did not search for the specific gage for you. You're on your own. I know that commercial machines go all the way down to silk-stocking gage, so getting one fine enough is just a matter a patience and knowing what to request.

I have absolutely no idea, but your question was so ultra-specific, and beats the heck out of the usual zits-pregnancy-menses-etc questions this website is rife with, that I gave it an "interesting" star!

May I suggest that you type "sock loom" WITH the quotes into your favorite search engine, and see what comes up?
