NHL for 7 teams, in 770 games he has 144 goals, 161 assists, 305 points and 1,816 PIM. He already has 6 suspensions from the NHL, and is about to get another one after his attempt to injure infraction the other night where he purposely stepped on a guys ankle with his skate. He's probably looking at a 20 game suspension. Enough is enough. I know Coach Ted Nolan is a Canadian Inuit Indian just like Simon, but this guy has to be cut. He's a goon and long past his prime. The days of goons like Domi, Ray, Barnaby are over. Simon, Brad May and Brashear are the last of the dying breed. But it's time for this guy to take a permanent vacation. Go back to Wawa, Ontario, and start drinking again. What do you think?

He's also made about 16 million for his career, so he doesn't need the money, unless he wasted it all, which might be true

F- Simon, I make no apologies for anything that I said. Everything I said is true. Nolan is playing favoritism with Simon because he was his coach in minors and they are both from the same tribe. Also, I mentioned he's a drunk, because, well, HE IS/WAS A DRUNK. I also mentioned he's a good, well, he started off his career as a goon, then became a good player in Washington, and now the past few years has gone back to being a reckless goon. After what he did to Ryan Hollweg last year, I lost ALL RESPECT for this guy. He should join Marty McSorley in permanent retirement.

Definitely time for him to hang up the blades.

Stepping on someone with your skate blade is not acceptable behaviour. He could have ended Ruuttu's career. When you look at his history of offenses, I don't see how anyone could think that Chris Simon should be allowed back in the league.

His decision, not yours or mine. that his teammates and coaches and the owner still want him says something. As far as the native ramblings, I am not sure how that ties into anything.
Seeing as fighting is way up this year, I am not really buying the "dying breed" either. All you did was name a bunch of older enforcers. It is like me saying that the skilled players are a dying breed like Yzerman, Lemieux, Sakic and Modano. Doesn't hold any water, there are PLENTY of young enforcers and as I said, fighting is up this year.

Also, he is probably looking at more than 20 games and yes, his career is almost over, if not already but again, I don't get the rest of your speech.

Yes, I feel it's time for him to hang them up. He obviously has some extreme issues he is dealing with. He has always been a tough player, but recently he has lost all control of his anger and shows no respect for others. Perhaps when his skill was better, he could keep up, but since the game has gotten faster, he seems to be falling behind. Regardless of who the 2 players are that he has assaulted, it is no excuse. He needs to get his anger under control, and by the time he does that, he won't be able to play in the NHL.

I think any player that tries to ruin another players career is a complete idiot.Bettman needs to stand tall and use some of his power on situations like this.I would suspend for the balance of the year.Send a message to all the league. Its unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

Sorry, what does the coach and the player being Inuit have to do with everything? Dude, I like to think that I'm an open racist, but you just made me blush with the drinking comment.

Now that the Islanders have granted him an " indefinite leave of absence" so to speak, I hope he takes this time to get any help that he needs. His work with the Isles' many charitable organizations will be missed.

I was in complete agreement with you until the racist stuff. You seem capable of far more intelligent arguments than this.Don't destroy your own credibility with statements that portray you as an intolerant, senseless idiot. Help us all out and drop the race stuff,it helps no one, especially YOU.

Not very sporting, but I don't think that makes it OK to crap on the guy for being native.
