EXTREMELY! My sister had that happen when we were children and I still remember her screaming! Will his pediatrician do anything to try to numb it? Oh the poor baby. I don't mean to scare you but it will be a long night and he will hurt. But once it has ruptured he'll be fine.

The doctor will have to drain it. It will just clog shut and you will hear nothing.

I don't know, but it sounds like it would. Has he seen a doctor?
