i still don't get it..
the '95 Orlando Magic if i remember correct, went into the post season the #1 seed in the east (the east was a much stronger conference then) they had the best home record in the NBA. they eliminate the Bulls led by Jordan in 6 games, then they faught hard to eliminate the Pacers led by Reggie miller/coached by Larry Brown in 7 games.
so how the hell did they not win at least one game against the #5 seed Houston Rockets in the Finals?

Game 1 of the finals is their best chance. Unfortunately Orlando crumbled in the dying minutes of regulation time. Orlando led most of the game until Kenny Smith caught fire and was unconcious raking in the threes. In the extra period Hakeem wrecked havoc against the inexperienced Shaq, making all kinds of spectacular shots, unseen and maybe unparalleled by any centers in any era making Shaq like a baby against a man of experience. Overall, Houston's experience and Olajuwon's craving for vindication (remember he didn't win the MVP award which many felt he won over David Robinson) was too much for Orlando's younglings outgunning them 4 game to zip.

Hope this help.

They simply don't have an aswer to hakeem. He's too quick and too good for shaq to defend. And, he is a marvelous free throw shooter (sorry shaq). Has an excellent outside game and a post play that keeps his defenders head spinning in confusion. Not even patrick ewing, David robinson, Charles barkley, (and even bill rusell, lol!) can guard him.. Bring on both sheed and ben wallace @ the same time and hakeem still will score 50+, im tellin yah.. HE is @ his prime that time, and the rockets are the uinderdogs, just like the warriors against the mavs... BUt hey, the underdogs makes up a series, and the more they beat the opposition, the more people would love them.

Nick Anderson cost the Magic game 1 of the Finals by choking free throws then developing a mental issue and never being able to make free throws consistently again.

Houston also had a lot of clutch players, Kenny Anderson, Sam Cassell, Robert Horry.

And Orlando was inexperienced, failed at their opportunities in Game 3. Were inconsistent, and struggled at times to get the ball into Shaq when they needed to.

Shaq played horrible defense on Hakeem Olajuwon (especially in crunch time)

Penny is no primetime player like Kobe and he couldn't provide the lift that Shaq needed
