my friend change price stickers on a jacket from 60.00 to 14.00 .. they took his info and let him go ... Will he get billed for the rest ? or will they sue him .? or jail ?

Depends on the state. Your friend is an idiot. I would stay away from him.

He will get what is called Civil Demand he can expect a letter in mail at some point ask for anywhere from $50.00 to $1000.00 depending on state

It's loss prevention and hopefully all 3 will happen.... but most likely they will not do anything... They just save the info on him to build up a case. If he gets caught doing something again then they will most likely take some sort of action.

That's a type of retail fraud. They probably just couldn't prove he was the one that changed the price, or he would have been arrested. Look for a new friend, this one is bad news.

That is actually theft. He could be criminally prosecuted.
