How do you find out the history of a house and land?

My family is looking to buy this house but waqnt to find out the history.

You can obtain a chain of title history from a title company. that will show you who has owned the house.

I know some people want a website to research if any crimes, suicides or other heinous acts have been committed on the property, and such a site doesn't exist. You may want to try the newspaper or the library.

All transactions of homes purchased from day one would be filed with the assessors office.
