Another stupid question but who knows!! So I'm 19 weeks pregnant, first pregnancy, and I can still squeeze into my normal pants. Maternity pants are far, far too big for me yet. The problem is I work in an office 8-5 every day so I can't go around wearing pajama pants. I worry that the pants I'm wearing are squeezing far too much on my stomach? Is that even possible? Or something you should worry about during pregnancy...

I live in Wisconsin. We just got 16 inches of snow in the past 40 hours. Dresses and skirts aren't really an option.

Wear the pants only until you feel comfortable. In no way are you hurting the baby, but it's just uncomfortable. And really besides the gas and heartburn and all the other yucky stuff you're probably feeling, wouldn't you like to at least have some comfort? Luckily I didn't start showing until 5 months so I wore my pants for sometime. And I only bought like 3 pairs of pants and my mother in law bought me another, and that's it. I don't mind using them over and over because for one, we use uniforms at work and second I didn't want to spend too much money on maternity clothes.

Congrats on your pregnancy!

I think you will cause yourself pain by doing that before you will harm the baby.
I (1) bought regular sized pants that were 1 or 2% spandex and that made a BIG difference, and (2) bought a Bella Band thingie which felt really weird at first but helped so much. I can fit into the smallest size maternity pants they sell at Motherhood now- stores like that usually have smaller sizes than places like Target, it seems.
15 1/2 weeks I can still wear my old pants but not very comfortably!!

Wow. I'm only 11 weeks and haven't been able to fit into ANY of my "normal" pants since about 9 weeks. You have got to be tiny!
As for the pants, if you can still fit into them comfortably, you're not doing any harm. While the further you get into your pregnancy, you are advised to wear looser fitting clothes - if they still fit you, go for it! Also, like Baby On Board said, try wearing a dress or a long skirt. Good luck.

I never wore maternity pants because over the tummy bugged me. I went to a store called Vanity and got regular pants in bigger sizes

-First choice for work pants would be a Bella Band (First link) They are wonderful and then you can wear your regular pants for another month or three.

-Until you can get one I would suggest using the hair band method. Loop one end around the button then put through the button hole then back to the button.

Good Luck!

Yes you dont want to put too much pressure on your stomach or bladder as there is already so much going on.
If maternity pants are not the answer right now, they sale these bands that you put over your regular pants(while leaving them unbuttoned and un zipped) and the cover everything and keep everything up. They make them really cute now with lace on the bottom. Try searching onlin for them, they are only about 20 bucks.

Get a bella band they are awesome - made of stretchy t-shirt material they go right over your regular jeans with the fly undone and hold them up comfortably and even discretely. Magic.
