I've done that with my grandma every year for the past 20 years. We give eachother the same crappy Liza Minelli Cassette tape that I originally gave her as a joke when I was 8 (she can't stand Liza). Each year, we try to use stealth to pass it off. When I was 10, she sent it to my uncle in another state, who sent it to us via UPS with "Do Not Open Until Christmas" written on it. For an entire month I was anxious, curious and excited to open that present. For a month!! I've never been so thrilled at disappointment. This year it's my turn to give it to her, and I'm racking my brains, because over 20 years, we've used every trick in the book.

i re-gift all the time but i never give it back to the person who gave it to me. i think that would be too rude.

yes I have re-gifted, but NO, not to the same person... except once... that heifer gave me this hideous sunflower clock that my sister in law had given to her the year before.. and I returned the favor the next year..it is an on-going tradition now.. we never know who is gonna wind up with that ugly thing.. ;)

Noooooo one should never give something back to the giver. I always tag things that will be re-gifted so I don't make that mistake. I do re-gift, tho'.

Yes, after three years I had forgotten where it had come from. They were a little upset until they person "they" had gotten it from spoke up and said something.
