- just look at your polyatomic cations(+) and anions(-)
- your acids will always have an hydrogen
-remember your perfix per(4) and hypo(1 usally, but it is the lowest amount of oxygen so it could also be 2) and for your sufixs ate(3),ite(2) will dictate your oxygen in the polyatomic

#Rules for Binary acids( having 2 elements with one being a hydrogen)
---first add the prefix HYDRO- to the anion ( like bromine or chlorine) and change the ending to IC then put acid
So HCL is hydrochloric acid and HBr is hydrobromic acid

#Rules for polyatomic acids that end in -ITE ( like sulfite)
--for this one you do not put hydro for the prefix and instead you take the name of your polyatomic and add an -OUS to the end of your polyatomic
So HNO2 is Nitrous acid

#Rules for polyatomic acids that end in -ATE
----for this one you do not put hydro for the prefix and instead you take the name of your polyatomic and put -IC at the end of it and then put acid
So H2SO4 is sulfuric acid and H2CO3 is carbonic acid
