Lots of sports figures have gambled on various games and other related activities. Just have not found out about them as much as the high profile guys. To name specific names would or could have legal problems, just use common sense when you get alot of money you are bored and want to spend it or bet with it. Its a fact of life.

Tris Speaker and Ty Cobb in baseball...the two top stars threatened to jump to a rival start-up league and nothing came about from an investigation...Hal Chase in baseball, allegedly manipulated numerous games when playing the pro game and may have been a major contact to players in the 1919 Black Sox scandel....Albert Belle in baseball, but the allegations of him calling in bets on clubhouse phones in Cleveland never became a huge national story.

great question since the sox not guilty misleding reports include tris speaker, ty cobb,miller huggins joe mccarthy, michael jordan , connie hawkins, who suffered the most , wilt chamberlin , because his team could not beat the celtics ? michael irvin ,mike vick . endless list . only guilty . mike vick. tabaloid journalism . yes . who has not made a bet , or wager in there lifetime. choclate bar when young, couple dollaes on a pool game , round of golf. i know there are many left of this .list . it is the price of fame . good luck. missed the convictions , saperstein for the ws , slap on wrist , to many to list on the college scandal of the forties one was ralph beard a all american . the second college scandle late 50s early 60s? many major convictions , we missed connie hawkins at his prime , in his 40s brilliant all around player. no other convictions , that i am aware of but this is from memory . better answers to come me computer illeterate thanks

Paul Horning when he was the star of the Green Bay Packers was suspended for one year for betting on football. He said he was wrong and sorry, even though he legally bet on the Packers to win. He never bet against the Packers.
