It depends on who's with you . But if it's a woman with whom I have a mutual attraction then sex is the best thing to past lengthy power failures .

Have computer and TV withdrawal.
Carry water from bay to house for toilet.
Use water to drink from a100 gallon well tank until gone.
Heat and cook with and a wood stove like I always do.
Use candles at night and a wind up radio.
Pray for the electric to come back on.

We had one the other night. we sat by romantic candlelight, and went to the shop using our phones as torches cos the streetlights were out to (the shop is on a different grid so was still open)
But... even without a light bulb the love of my sweet hubby shines so brightly it can never be dark....

Being a daughter of an electrician, I would know that generators are a good thing to have around so, I would go get mine, start it up and be back up and running before you could say blackout!
