Yes, it should since the Hawaiian Royal Family was overthrown by sugar and pineapple plantation owners who wanted Hawaii to be part of United States so they wouldn't have to pay import tariffs or other taxes on their sales to the USA. It was all about the money. They took over a sovereign nation and made it a state.

Vermont and even in Texas now there are now movements toward independent republics that want to separate from the states.
