1. I certainly would not have ignored the message about icebergs and i sure wouldnt have told them to go ahead and go faster just to make good time- I would have kept it at a nice lesisurely speed. and then of course i would have made sure ALOT more people had gotten on those life boats! So many people died when they didnt have too!

Knowing what will happen? First of all, reduce speed the second I hear the ice warnings. Next, plot a bit more southerly route to help avoid the icebergs. Make sure the watchers had binoculars and post a couple of extra people to help keep an eye on things.

After the iceberg was hit the ship and a lot of the people are pretty much doomed. Make sure the lifeboats were being as filled as much as possible is one. A gamble might have been to get the engines going again and try to get to SS Californian which the Titanic could see but could not get a response from. It was only about 10 miles away. A small ship but maybe with its lifeboats and all available space, many more people could have been saved. The downside to this is that lifeboats could not be launched during this journey so there would be less available time to get people off the ship. However, there would be more urgency in that very important first hour so maybe that would make up for there being less time.

Taken a extra southerly course. bogged down. saved a beware for the icebergs that were reported. this is purely for starters. After that we'd could flow over the evacuation and the loading of the lifeboats to potential, yet this might get fairly long, if i attempted to splendid each and every of the guy's blunders.

I would have gotten people on pieces of furniture in the water BEFORE the ship went down.
And no, I'm not just saying that because it's what Rose did in Titanic.
It actually would have worked.

I would have resisted the pressure to get across the Atlantic at speeds that were known to be unsafe in iceberg-prone waters.
