Will any Quarterback be as terrible as Ryan Leaf?

If you had to pick any that is close to him, then who and why?

It has to be Ryan Leaf. He was one of the biggest first round picks and had absolutely no career.

Rick Mirer, Andre Ware, Rodney Peete, Rex Grossman, Alex Smith, picking a QB high in the draft is the biggest gamble in the draft. There are many more. Tim Couch, Ty Detmer, Colt Brennen, oh yeah I suppose he should have an oppurtunity to fail before I put his name on this list. I do think Leaf might be the worst bust at QB ever.

Lot's of drafted quarterbacks have been worse than Leaf. Leaf was drafted second overall, which makes him one of the worst picks ever.

The only ones close that I can think of Art Schlister, Akili Smith, Cade McNown, Dan McGuire, and Todd Marinovich (my personal choice.)

Heath Shuler has got to be ranked right up there. He was a flop in the NFL at quarterback. In fact, ESPN ranks him in the top 25 flops in sports of all time.

BTW, he has also been a flop since elected to Congress.

David Carr.

As Texans fan, I have heard it all, from no O-Line to bad play calling. The excuses are endless, but in the end, it was all Carr. He simply cannot get the job done. Carolina thinks differently, and he has already shown how bad he is there, and had to be removed from a game to save him from Panther fans.

The only two that come close are Rex Grossman and Eli Manning. Both are first round choices that teams hoped would help then make it to the Superbowl. However, neither has had such a lousy carreer after such high hopes.
