A fossil fuel is a natural resource that can be used up completely and never gotten back.

I renewable energy source is something that can be used over and over again.

Shame on you, LOL! Not like none of us haven't done this too. Fossil fuel is assumed to be a finite fuel source, that is there is only so much that was made and when it's gone, it's gone since Nature can not replace this except over millions of years of compression.
Renewable is energy that will not run out.....for example, the sun. Another source is geothermal......as long as the earth's core is hot, we have the heat and from there can make steam for generators, etc. Uranium is a curious thought.......it is renewable or finite? The way we use it now, it is finite......a rod will not last thousands of years.

Renewable energy are the kind that can or will be renew. For instance alcohol from corn will be recaptured as rain and CO2 and it will grow back as some other plant.
Fossil fuel on the other hand is dug out of the ground and once the chemical are release to the air, they can never become "fossil fuel" again.
===
Renewable energy also encompasses other energy like solar or wind as long as they DON'T add to the already polluted air.
Good Luck.

well fossil fuels are OIL and GAS, they are the primary source of energy, and they will eventually run out. On top of this, these fuel sources are thought to be major contributors to global warming.
That is why there is a big push to develop alternative sources of energy, which are called renewable, such as WIND power, and SOLAR power and things like that. Those are renewable sources of energy. Another thing scientists are trying to do is
develop engines that run on water.

Fossil fuels, ie; coal, oil & gas are limited in quantity, they are going to run out soon (oil may run out as soon as 20 years)
Renewable energy comes from a source which will not run out, such as wind, solar power, or hydro-electricity (generated by water).
Fossil fuels tend to be cheaper to source but are worse for the environment as when they are burned to release energy they emit huge amounts of carbon ( a pollutant) into the atmosphere, so to prevent pollution we should be seeking to use renewable energy in the future.
Good luck, hope this helps.

Fossil fuel is a fuel sourced from fossils drilled from underground - oil, gas and coal. Renewable Energy Resource is one that comes from something that is renewable - i.e., won't run out - solar, hydroelectric, wind and geothermal. Nuclear Power is not classified, as it is undecided which it is, if at all.
Renewable - a source that won't run out/unlikely to run out for millions of years.
Fossil Fuels - Will deplete

A renewable energy source is a source that keeps on coming back, .like wind (i.e. wind farms). But a fossil fuel is an energy source that is being used up, and cannot be used again. Think of it this way: There will always be wind, but there won't always be oil.

a fossil fuel has taken millions of years to make. renewable energy resources can be replaced in a few years.

renewable (free) sources are water (hydrolysis and electrolysis and hydro-electric power), wind (wind farms wind mills, vane power generators), solar power, organic chemical batteries - sources that will be there much longer than fossil fuels such as crude oils (petrols and diesels) which were formed over millions of years of bio-degradation. These sources are largely depleted and not likely to be regenerated in out species lifetime.
