This band has been around for the last 10-years. They blend Rock with Rennaisance and Folk. Their lead guitarist was a founder member of 2 famous Classic Rock bands {Deep Purple, and Rainbow}. Their lead singer is a fan of Stevie Nicks, Fleetwood Mac, and Maggie Reilly {Mike Oldfield}, and they are friends with Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull.

~*~ Blackmore's Night ~*~

The most 'Rock' of their albums so far is 'The Village Lanterne'

Not a chance these days thanks to talentless shows like The X Factor. They are too frightened to have a rock band on these shows in case they find someone who will last more than 12 months.Rock bands earn their chance by years of playing dives and taking abuse, not suffering 12 or so weeks being pampered at jumped up record moguls luxury homes.Sharon Osbourne I do not include you in this. You have a talented husband and manage some of the greatest bands of all time.

All the good rock music died during the mid to late 90's. But mark my words - a new rock movment will come again and blow this current crop of crap out of the water!!!

I don't know of any recent rock bands who play amazing rock.
It needs amazing lyrics sung with passion, recognizable riffs, emotional and powerful wailing guitar solos, amazing drumming and the kind of bass line where you hardly notice it at first but once you have cottoned on to it you are just in awe!!!
There are some bands that tick a few boxes on the list but I am still waiting for one that ticks them all.

Another Queens of the Stone Age song - No one knows.
It ticks all but the guitar solo box in my opinion.

What's new to you?

Queens of the Stone Age is kinda new, their 1st really big album came out in 2002. They are good. They got nominated for a grammy this year for their song "Sick, Sick, Sick."

They have other good songs like:
Like a Drug
Little Sister
Go With the Flow
Make It Wit Chu
3's and 7's
The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret

Godsmack knows how to rock. I grew up in the 70's & 80's and they are my favorite new group although they have been around for 10years. Breaking Benjamin & Three Days Grace are pretty good to.

Queens of the Stone Age.
Try the Album "Lullabies to Paralyse"
best tracks:
"I Never Came", "This Lullaby" and "Little Sister" and "Everybody Knows That You Are Insane".
And all the others :D
Enjoy

Three Days Grace. They write almost all of their songs, they have meaningful lyrics, they are played with emotion, they have good sounding (but not compilicated) guitar parts.
