Are there stories of serial killers?

How many murders and rapes are reported in average every year?

Dangerous? Gotta be kidding! Probably the most dangerous thing you can do is cross the street. Mind you, for those less prepared, be careful of the beaches: not the sharks but the currents! Every year a handful of people get swept away and drown. But downtown or the city? No more dangerous than any other mid-sized city.

I am born and bred in Sydney, although I now live in Queensland, my heart resides in Sydney.

It is a beautiful city, with no crime rate anything like the U.S, we dont have all those nasty guns.
Makes a big difference to crime rates.

Every city has some elements of danger, stay away from walking down dark alley ways at night, dont hang at train stations alone, like any city in the world, use common sense.

I have never been attacked, or felt threat even in Sydneys 'worst' areas, like kings cross.

There has been about 3 serial murderers ever in Austalia, lol although I dont know the rates, I do know more people die in car accidents than any other way!

Its a relaxed place, but not without some crime.

I have never felt threat, and im SOOO homesick.

You mean- sydney, australia? One of the safest cities in the world, however, yeah, it's a huge city so naturally in some of the outskirts there can be crime. But anyway you can never compare that to europe or anything in the states.

Never having been there,I would have to guess that the crime rate is no more or less than any other major city in the world, although the Far East and Russia have probably(and rightly) the smarmiest reputations

The Sydney drivers are far more dangerous than any serial killer could ever be!

It is if you play marbles on the Cahill Expressway or jump off the Harbour Bridge. Otherwise, it's safe.

Why don't you look for crime statistics on a criminology site? You will get the real answers there. People here are pretty unlikely to know about murder or other serious crime rates.

I lived in Sydney - and I was never murdered or raped.

It's a city like any other city. (I prefer it over NYC.)

Not more dangerous than other great cities of the world. Probably safer than most of these great cities.
