Does anyone know what I can do? I have filed my divorce paperwork in Long Beach Superior Court. My attorney wanted us to go to trial because he said LB is notorious for losing paperwork. I have been calling them every week to see if the judge has signed the judgement. They couldn't find the papers and then apparently they did and the judge signed them and then it was supposed to be processed. Well apparently it never arrived to be processed and they have no idea where it is. The supervisor is not there and the woman in the department with my judge is not there either. Can't something be done about their inadequacy as employees? Can I file a complaint? Or anything? This has been EXTREMELY stressful and if it gets lost it will cost me more money.

Makes you wonder about the wisdom of Lifetime appointments for Judges. Since most judges are lawyers good luck trying to file a suit against them.

There's nothing you can do except complain to the supervisor in the clerks office - who will, of course, ignore you.

Civil servants are effectively immune to suit - or pretty much any other action - in regard to how they do their jobs.

Why else is it, do you think, that government work invariably attracts the laziest and most incompetent people in the world? It's because they take jobs where they know they can get away with conduct that any private employer would fire them for.

Uh this is right before Xmas - people are on vacation. some people may have temp replacements.

Try again after new years.

It is not the court's issue if you didn't budget enough time or money for the task you set out on.

Write the California Administrator of Courts (or some such title). Maybe a call from that office will turn up your decree.

Write to the clerk of courts unless you want to go to the state board. Good Luck.

You need to sue her to dispute any charges you do not agree with. Painting is only wear & tear if you did nothing to cause it to need painting. Contrary to popular belief landlords are not required to paint between tenants. If you put any holes in the wall then she can legally charge you to paint. To dispute the flooring you would need some kind of proof that it was like that when you moved in. The city would not do anything. They do not regulate landlords.
