You know that's a good question. I really don't know because after i walk off i don't look back. As the Bible says "plow ahead". Naw i don't walk off, i guess I would start dancing and tell them I had to go to the bathroom. Really I always listen and I know you don't want to hear this, but once while going into a local restaurant/bar, a fellow came out and stopped me.
He was upset at an old roomy of mine and I told him that the old roomy would have a few to many and fight anyone and should have taken him back in and straightened it out but just told him the guy was a jerk and not to worry. But the guy killed himself two weeks later as his wife left him and he was at home with "friends" there. Trust me I don't need friends like that.
Now I knew him from a friend I worked with and he had just gotten in a argument with an old roommate. He was upset and talked about a "fight". I told him that the fellow he was talking about started trouble with everyone after he had had a few to many drinks and not to take it personal . i mentioned that i used to be the peacemaker between him and his girlfriend and most bar fights and i got sick of it and not to sweat it. i mentioned that we had gotten in a knockdown drag out fight one day and destroyed the entire living room and called it a tie, but what a mess and broke the TV, knocked his stereo and reel to reel and just torn up everything. We finally took enough time to see what we had done and caled a draw.
The TV was a rear projection type and belonged to a friend that was getting a diverce and an exMarine captain. He dresses out at 6'2", 289 pounds. One night i was at bennigans and he (old roomy) shoed up with fiancee and another person put Pik up to starting so trouble about Southern Mississippi football and he was from Ole Miss.
So I am talking to someone and then everybody rushes off and this guy jumped over the rail, we were at Bennigans. I took and see "Roomy" take five swings at Pik and Pik was taking off he glasses and roomy stopped and Pik said he didn't even break a vessel. Anyway it was us three and next thing i knew the bar staff grabbed everyone.
Now I knew how roomy was and later he said you could not pour him on Pik, as matter of fact months later at Piks, he picked up Roomy with one arm in front of all the ladies by the leg. ONly time i saw that before was an Ole Miss linebacker that plyed at New York. Roomy wore a size 50 coat and had bigger feet than me at 16! Anyway Roomy told me to watch his back and he tried to get his girlfreind out who was mad at him and had had a few and told him she wasnted to see the guy beat him up, so I was funny.
you can look in someones eyes and see that htey are having a problem, but the guys wife had left him and about two weeks later he shot himself at home with people there. He was rich and owned a timber company.
So now i listen to everyone as if I had told him to come in and straighten it out or just bought him a drink somewhere else, he might have mentioned that and i could have told him not to sweat it and told the guy at work, if he had told me about the wife. So you never know. The old girl friend i told her what to do, but she let the idiot exhusband to be stay with her. Go figure! Take care. I'll have to tell you about the night the rednceck hit exroomy in the head with a beerbottle and would not come outside and then ripped the bouncers coat arm off and............................................... not easy being a peacemaker. A few really killer funny stories about he Marine buddy and fights, I mean I never laughed so much. Take care. But its a pain sometimes to listen to some people, but you never know when you may make a different, so if you can do it.

Not always. I try to look like I'm listening.
Most of the time I have a hard time hearing people talk, especially in a noisy room, and they can't tell that I have no clue as to what they just said!

hm? what were you saying?
um... no not really. Only my closest friends can and I hardly do with them. But in math, my teacher always blames me for daydreaming when I"m not. Which sucks. but when I start to tune out, my eyes get out of focus and my faces relaxes and I don't tend to blink.

Yeah, I start to snore with my eyes open. That usually gives it away.
