Question for someone who likes politics and knows a lot about the countries that hate us?

A couple of questions:

About how many countries are there total?
About how many of those countries hate us?
About how many of THOSE countries are capable of attacking?


And finally, what country would u say is the biggest threat to the US any why?

1) Note sure how many countries there are in the world but would guess over a few hundred. (It doesn't matter)
2) I would say that none of them truly hate us but hate what our government does and stands for.
3) I would say non of them would want to attach us. Remember we are the ones attaching countries under false pretenses.
4) The biggest threat to the USA is our government and ourselves. We need to realize just being a supper power dose not mean we can invade countries for made up reasons. Kill innocent people for the sake of democracy and freedom. Support dictatorships for the betterment of corporate greed. We are our own worst enemies in the world. As soon as we realize this things will get better. "One nation under God" We are "One nation under corporate greed and inhumanity to others" We are not the country we think we are in the world. We could do so much good for others and we do so little.

There are about 130 countries. As far as 'hating us' is concerned probably none. There certainly are factions in certain countries that view US policies as against their particular interests and these factions view the US as an enemy. I doubt if any country has any plans to 'attack' us in any kind of conventioal manner and as far as being 'capable' of any kind of direct attack there certanly aren't any....with the possible exception of Russia, and even that's a stretch. In real life there is no country that poses a threat to the US...what poses a 'threat' is the general movement of history. US leadership, particularly in the last decade, has totally failed to understand the changing dynamics of how the international world operates, how established institutions change and how technology trumps ideology. The biggest 'threat' to us is...us! For that reason this drive toward 'conservativism' has been such a bust. The world is changing too rapidly to change slowly when rapid change is needed and to attempt to reverse progress to return us to some mythical 'golden age' is nonsense as well. This country needs to mend some fences with some countries while building others fences to reduce illegal immigration. We need to withdraw from the middle east and it's oil problems and concentrate on 21st century technology to deal with the problems of energy production. So many problems and so little time to deal with them. History will run right over us if we're not prepared to stay in the game. No kiddin'!

about 194 nations in the world (some places may consider themselves a nation that others don't recognize)

A rough guess?? I'd say 1/5th hate us and about 1/3rd aren't friendly towards us. (assuming us is the US) And about 70% aren't happy with our dealings in Iraq... but don't hate us in general (including those with no opinion in the 30% that is left over)

um... maybe 20-25 could actually attack us ....


And the biggest threat to the US is ourselves... Super Powers don't go into all out wars much anymore... it's wars of finance and implosion. If we allow ourselves to.. we'll crumble just like the USSR did.


China, Saudi Arabia have a lot of influence over our economy and could do major damage to our economy.

Bin laden has us tied up in a drawn out war that is draining our economy.


Those are the largest threats outside our nation.

Of the 268 countries of the world, I would estimate that maybe 40-60 hate us. Most of them are Muslim extremist, like Iran, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, and a few African Nations and a few South American and Central American Nations. None of those are currently able to attack us in a classical sense but can use terrorist attacks instead. The biggest threat to the United States in my opinion is Iran. They would love to get their hands on a Nuclear bomb to use on us for the shock affect that would ensue.

Pip is right on what the United States and the UN consider to be countries, but there are 268 if you include territories and Colonies. For instance: Bermuda is under UK jurisdiction but is a Country all it's own and can compete in the Olympics.

How many hate the US? enough to warp any UN general assembly vote away from any kind of sanity

one...we're being invaded by Mexico, and we aren't fighting back...so they'll eventually win!

Hate us or hate our foreign policies?

If you are asking which ones hate our foreign policies, pretty much most of the world.
All of them are capable of attacking us, but whether they would achieve much is another question.
Britiain loves our foriegn policies, because they pretty much mimic their old ones.

If you pay attention to what these other countries that hate our foreign policies are saying, they pretty much refer to our government as a rogue government.

there's a lot of countries, many of them hate us because we have what they want or they don't like what we have. All of them are capable but very very few are dumb enough to seriously try. China has a lot of American money saved up and if dropped on the global economy it would send us into another depression. then leave us vulnerable to attack

no country did. the 9/11 terrorists were not representing a country. iraq never attacked us. neither did iran.

the last country to attack us was japan, 60 years ago.
