depends on the guy. Some.. yes it would mean they have more up their sleeve... or he could just honestly be a nice guy. I've always showered my girlfriend with compliments since the day I met her... and I've wanted nothing more than to make her feel good with each one of them.

To me, a red flag. Confidence is good. Compliments are good, but one at a time seems more natural & sincere. Being showered sounds like he's after something.

not a red flag. he might be a little shy and is simply trying to communicate with you.
you should tell him, in a friendly tone, that you appreciate his compliments. tell him that just 1 will complement suffice. the key is to "cut in" so he is not overburdened to give you so many complements.
what you want to do is take an active part in the conversation, "cut in" and chat with him, so he is not having to give such an out pouring of compliments. by "cutting in" i mean contribute to his attempt to talk to you. say "thank you very much, i appreciate that." follow up with something else like "what did you do last night?" or "how was your weekend?" or "are you going out with your friends this weekend?"

I've showered people with compliments and they've all backed away. I always thought they'd become my friend this way, but it never worked. Maybe this guy wants your friendship.

The guy is a "con" and not to be trusted! They have to have a facade from behind which, he hides to conquor and lie!! Don't trust such a person!
