And my fashion sense is WAYYY different from alot of people here. I dress "emo/scene", you could say. Lots of tight skinnies, band tees, studded belts, hoodies, stuff like that.
And the fact that I listen to alot of screamo music [alesana, blessthefall, etc] doesn't help.
There's no way in HELL i'll change my style to be like all the preps at my school. Hollister? Um, no. I'll stick to my Hawthorne Heights hoodie. xD
But why are people so...retarted about it? I can dress how I like, and listen to the music I want. Anyone else in the same situation?

Yea. I dont care if people stare at me, I like it! But even my mom tries to get me to dress preppier so her friends won't tell her what a "terrible fashion sense" i have. can't people accept difference?

I'm no in the same situation but I know what you mean about everyone caring what everyone else is wearing... Its so stupid! Its like WHO CARES!!! Its none of your business.. ya know? Sure, personally I like Hollister and American Eagle and all those other stores but that doesn't mean other people HAVE to too! That's stupid! I think you are doing the right thing by not changing who you are to fit someone elses standards!
If everyone was the same this world would be soooo boring and I'm pretty sure it would come to an end! LOL! People just need to learn that not everyone is the way they are! Its okay to have your own identity... I think people judge people's appearances and what not because they are insecure... And most of the time they do it to get the attention off of them and on to whoever they are pointing the finger at.. If that makes sense!

The only people that are retarded about how you dress and what music you listen to and who you chill with are the people who are too insecure with themselves! So then they frown upon the people who are different to make themselves feel better and cooler about themselves! I happen to wear hollister nearly 7 days a week however I have lots of skater/scene friends who have the whole screamo style thing goin on...i could care less what anyone else wears...i just feel like the prep style is who i am..
So don't worry about the kids who act retarded about what you wear..thats who YOU are...and its your life...do what you do...you are not living it for THEM...

well i'm not.and u can dress anyway u want and listen to music and everything. and otherppl have no right to judge u based on that. but do they care?? no they dont they havent and they never will..nothing you can do bout that...so either go with the flow(which either means change ur style or just ignore and dont care) ur chioce i'm not saying ANYTHING......

Not really in your situation but never worried about what people thought of me and the way I did things and things worked out fine. So just keep doing what you do.
