Forgiveness is an act of love between you and the person who has hurt you...it's the "bandage" that holds the wound closed long enough for it to heal.

To err is human, to forgive, Divine.
Humans do not have the power of forgiveness. It's a bad translation, what Jesus was saying is "do not resent". Kick the dust off your feet as you leave so you do not carry the madness inside you forever.

The process of forgiveness is letting go of the past - releasing that which is holding you back.

An evangelistic proselitizer who's trying to bring you "to the Lord"! HIS version of the "Lord"! Or HIS way of thinking and his control!!! Certainly not a mutual type of understanding and new start!

Well sometimes I get angry at the word because it means I have to let someone walk over me just to make peace.

i think of my friends-they do things wrong sometimes, and screw ME up. I can't forgive them because it is soooooooooooo hurtful, but I end up saying 'I forgive ya.'

Forgiveness comes from those who have judged you for your mistake. They are asking you to be no-judgmental for their short comings.
