I have met people who claim they were on Birth Control when they became pregnant and yes a couple of them eventually had an abortion. With the statistics being 99.9% effective, I find their claim highly improbable, and think it is a feeble attempt to justify their abortion.

I'll take your question at face value. The answer is Yes. As an example, women using an IUD can become pregnant. It sometimes slips and it happens. Know that for a fact. Condoms sometimes break and the so-called rythmn method also has unintended results.
Also, the big lie is women use abortion as a birth control method. It is very rare that a woman does that.
As an aside, the hidden agenda with the pro life people is you eliminate abortion and there will be more babies available for adoption. All their other arguments are secondary to that.

Well, yes, lots of people *incorrectly* using birth control get pregnant. Studies show that a disturbing percentage of men - something like 40 percent - don't know how to use condoms correctly (though they of course attempt to use them). And many women don't take their birth control pills correctly, which is to say, *every day without ever missing*. It IS a big deal to miss one single pill.
With all this happening, Americans are obviously ignorant about how to protect themselves during sex. And I think this reflects pretty pathetically on the crap sex education programs in this country, many of which don't teach about birth control *at all*. I think this is, plain and simple, socially irresponsible.
I've known just a few women who became pregnant while supposedly practicing birth control. (Who really knows what some people actually did? Again, a person can say, "But I used a condom!" and it doesn't mean much if he didn't use it right.) For some of the women, abortion was the final decision; for others, keeping the baby. One had an ovarian cyst that she found out second trimester would cause her baby to have a deformed head and either be severely retarded or die after a few days. She had an abortion. But in no case would any of their situations have been made better by a law forcing them how to decide.
It appals me to think people would like to force women with fetuses with deformed heads (or whatever else) to spend hours and hours painfully birthing the baby just so she can sit in misery and physical and emotional pain and watch it die.

birth control that became pregnant: Yes, 3 people actually. 2 faulty condoms and one that was on the pill and just beat the odds.
Only one of those had an abortion.. the other two did not.

Yes and no. I have a friend who became pregnant twice while practicing birth control. Abortion was NOT an option to her.

sure you could. I did. It led to a miscarriage as a results of fact my uterine lining became into thinned out by using the pill, which brought about my son to have issues attaching to the wall. It occurs, yet does not continuously bring about a miscarriage. i for my section will in no way take any form of delivery administration lower back. If we could look forward to extra teenagers (which we don't), we will use a condom.

Yes, a woman I know was using the pill when she got pregnant. She carried to term but the baby was born with down syndrome. Many doctors have speculated it was probably due to the effects of the birth control pills as one of the other answerers before me stated that she had a miscarriage due to the pill.

This question seems to be posted in the wrong section, it should be under health maybe?
A question about abortion in general may be political, but a question about a specific abortion IS NOT political.
