Image that the Beatles are a band of today, meaning that they no longer existed in the 60s but instead were formed a couple of months ago and are trying to make it big.
Looking at the music we have today, do you think they would be able to reach the fame we all know they had, or would they be pushed aside because they don't have the right look or sound to become popular in our time?

I believe they would make it. They adapted as they went along to go with the times. Advancing it in many cases. Don't see how that would make much difference in todays world. Might just be the breath of fresh air this time could use. I'm sure not all would love them. All didn't back then either.....but their music is timeless.

I'm not really a Beatles fan, but if they hadn't existed in the 1960's, music wouldn't be the same as today, so they could be a band that ended up mainstream or was kind of "out there". The Beatles music was good and what people needed back then. They where (and pretty much still are) an internation icon, but if they wherent around in the sixties then who knows what any music would sound like today!

Well, without the Beatles existing in the 60's, some of the music styles we have today might not be the same. I think that if they were trying to become big in today's world, they would because there was and is nothing like their music so it would all still be new and different and this is what the world liked about them in the first place. I don't think todays world would be the same if they weren't around in the 60's, but this is just my opinion, me being someone who the beatles have effected greatly .

As much as I adore The Beatles, if they had formed recently they would have a pretty hard time making it. Somehow, I don't really see how they could take away from the popularity of bands like Fall Out Boy or MCR.

Then again, if The Beatles weren't around in the 60's MCR et al might never have existed...

My head hurts.

Well I am not sure because without the Beatles most of todays music probably wouldnt exist or there would have already been a band kind of like the Beatles.

Please, the Beatles paved the way for a huge majority of the bands in today's society. It would just be like pre-Beatle days, and they'd get the same amount of fame as before. However, their more political and social songs probably would have been different because of the present era. It would all probably be really cool though. And even if society wouldn't accept them, who cares? They rock.

I don't know how well they would do. A lot of people today (teenagers) like rap and new music. Probably if The Beatles were trying to make it in mainstream types of music... they wouldn't do as well, but probably they would have a fan base that didn't like mainstream music BUT if they are coming in as their early Beatles selves they might make it and it would be Beatlemania all over again! ;D

Ah... but if they had formed now, they would only be aged 20ish, and as such would be more likely to be playing the style of music that most 20-year-olds are into these days.

Also, if they hadn't existed when they did, the music of today might not sound the way it does.

Given their message of peace and love, they would widely be disregarded, and probably become classified in the Michael Bolton/Celine Dion category.

Times have changed dramatically since the Beatles debuted. They were the right band for the right time.
