i dont think it is really fair that women can't play in the NHL with the guys. Women can be tough to, strong, and fast. Plus we could take the beatings the guys dish out, we would hit them twice as hard then. Just tell me why women cant play NHL hockey.

They can, there is nothing stopping them from doing so. The NHL has always been open to players from both genders. The Tampa Bay Lightning invited Manon Rheaume to camp several years ago as a non-roster invitee. She played an exhibotion game against the St. Louis Blues giving up 2 goals and looking shake on several other shots. But she played against the men, but did not make the team.
If you think you're good enough...try out. IT is permissable within the NHL's guidelines.

Three main reasons: size, speed, strength. Women are built different and because of that they can't accomplish the same things in the same way a some guys can. Are there strong women? Very. Can girls beat boys. Sure. Can a woman in this day and age play in the NHL? No. The National women's teams often scrimmage boys teams (yes I said boys as they will play high school aged kids), and the games are often close (and the boys are at a disadvantage because they can't check and play the physical game they know). But those are BOYS not the MEN they'd encounter in the NHL. I'm a girl and I've scrimmaged with guys. Overall, lots of times my skill level is above theirs as I am strong skater and can move well; but for every three strides I take a clumsy guy skater only has to take one therefore pretty much making him faster literally by having much longer legs than me. I am 5'5 (average height for female) and I come up to lots of guys shoulders on the ice and a shoulder or elbow to the head from a 6 ft. guy even though it was an accident? Not fun.

Because they arn't strong enough. Plus, if a guy hits her and hurts her, everyone will get mad at the guy because he hit a girl and thats not what a gentleman would do. Girls dont play in the nfl or nba so what kind of question is this.
My favorite. Try imagining a girl getting checked by one of Scott Stevens' lethal checks. The only position a girl could play in the nhl is goalie. You dont get hurt as much except a couple of stingers to the shoulder.
Watch Clint Marlachuks kneck get cut by a skate and tell me if a woman could take that

1st female to play in a NHL exhibition game (Manon Rheaume, goalie) for Tampa Bay Lightning - gives up 2 goals on 9 attempts in 1 period.

They can. Haley Wickenheiser even tried out with the Flyers but physically could not keep up. One day there will be a breakthrough. The NHL has not stopped women with potential from trying out.

There are no other female NHL players. One tried out, that's it. If you wat to, go ahead. You'll have to work your way up through juniors or NCAA and get drafted or get invited to camp, and if you can even make it that far it'll be an accomplishment.
Biologically, Women are not as strong or as large. You just don't have testosterone. It quite simply is the chemical that makes muscles big. If you can find a women who is both strong and skilled enough, there is nothing stopping here. However, for the vast majority of women, biology- not rules- is what's stopping them.

Let's face it, Manon Rheaume was not considered to play in the NHL with her training camp invite. It was a sideshow and a publicity stunt, by I think it was Phil Esposito at the time. There was no way she was making the team.

i would rather watch guys only in NHL instead of your idea. its just...the way it has been. it will be so weird seeing women & men in NHL. thats like saying... eat breakfast at night & dinner in the morning. if they have to play hockey professionally, there can be a separate league. just like WNBA there can be WNHL if there HAS to be a pro league.

You're hockeygurl, you just changed your hairstyle and name. Either way, I am glad to see that you really can spell and form grammatically correct sentences. You should keep writing like this, not the drivel you were posting earlier. I praise you for writing well this time.
Now as for your extremely feminist thinking, I say whatever. I'll just side with PuckDat if he answers this. I remember he had a really great answer to one other extreme-feminist's question. I don't remember what it was, but it was really good.

There's actually tons of women currently playing in the nhl. It's hard to tell because they are wearing helmets with cages hiding their faces.
