so, she wanted to get me guituar hero for christmas. so, she went to a best buy, and she somehow found out that they were getting a shipment in the next day, and she asked an employee if she had to do anything. and the employee said no.

so, the next day, she got up at like, 5:00, and went to best buy. so, she had a copy in her hand, and, the person said she couldn't have it without a certain slip of paper, so, she had to give the copy to someone else. the manager didn't help, just said what the employee said.

so, what should she do?

Well, if I was your mom, I would have her go back to Best Buy, and try to get it now. Or in a couple days. When they get in a new shipment, you have to have a slip saying that you ordered one. Thats what I did for The Sims Open For Buisness, so, my dad talked to the dude, and he said to come back later, not when a new shipment just arrived. Hope I helped!

Bummer. I'd take my business elsewhere. I know this is a hot commodity this Christmas so that might explain why the store is going with a "special slip" way of allocating them to customers. I think the manager should have done something like given your mother a "special slip" and put her on the list for their next shipment. He/she sounds somewhat inept. That being said, I don't think I'd want to patronize his particular store in the future. Maybe if you posted your whereabouts, some kind fellow yahooligan might know of an alternative place, local to you, where your mom can make the purchase. Merry Christmas!

There is probably very little that can be done at this point....especially if she already went to the general manager. I would say try another Best Buy store and make sure that she gets a 'raincheck' if they don't have a current shipment of that particular item....Word of mouth doesn't go very far these days, you must have everything in WRITING!!

Not sure there is much she can do. If she can remember what the employee looks like, maybe she can point him/her out to the manager. Other than that, make sure she gets that piece of paper for the next shipment.

Don't shop at Best Buy any more and make your purchases of gaming software from an online retailer with a secure and reputable website. Write to or email Best Buy Corporate headquarters and let them know what happened and how you intend to shop in the future.

Sounds like your mom has already done to much for you. Stop being a baby and accept what she can give you with glee and stop demanding things that may be beyond her means. Consider her income and what it has to cover. Guitar Hero may be too expensive. Be reasonable. My parents couldn't afford anything so I never asked, not even for a candy bar because in the 1940's and 50's money was very tight. Food on the table came first and everything else second.

Your Mom should inform the manager that she was given the wrong information and should have been able to get the product without a slip of paper. If he doesn't help then write to their corporate customer service people through their web site.

it depends wether or not she got a reighn chech for the item, saying that one the copys is hers if she did than the employes are in the wrong! There would have been no reason why she shouldnt have gotten it, if she didnt get one, than they may have other people waiting to come in and pick up the game, i would just suggest for her to talk to the general manager or a diffrent supervisor of the store to get exactly what happend

unfortunately probably not much your mom can do now unless they are getting some more.

but she can go speak with a manager and be very calm about it and just explain exactly what happened etc...and see what they can do.

i work at a store like this and sometime's they'll put one aside for a customer in certain situations.

Get a hold of Best Buys corporate number.. have the name of the manager and the employee on hand. Talk to them and ask them to notify the store of their incompetence and satisfy your mom.
