It depends on how well your cat listens to you and how you introduce the two. Hamsters, like all rodents, are natural prey of cats. They have to be introduced to each other slowly, and the hamster should be kept in a closed room while you aren't there until the cat learns to leave him alone. If the cat listens to you well and wants to please you, he/she will leave the hamster alone eventually.

Sure can. If you raise the cat to respect life and make it known that it will always have a source of food available to it, it won't feel the need to kill your hamster. As for the hamster, it just needs to know it's safe to live happily.

it fairly is stressful to assert how the cat will react to the canine yet you're able to desire to get a feeling of ways the canine might desire to react to the cat. carry something with you to the rescue place that has the cats scent throughout it. enable the canine scent it. If it reacts in an aggressive or overly excited way, it would desire to act that way with the cat. Do get one that has been in a house with different pets. After awhile the two gets used to the assumption of sharing the comparable living house. That cat might start up off scared yet while the canine leaves it on my own, it will loosen up i'm advantageous. good luck. The canine you rescue would be an extremely fortunate canine.

I don't think so! At one time, I had a cat and a mouse and the cat was always trying to get it! He was always getting on top of the cage, had to watch them all the time!

Spike the cat used to toss the hamster out of the aquarium so that he could curl up inside. His killer instinct was not as strong as his jealous streak.
